The AMBM Group mobilizes to flatten the COVID-19 pandemic curve
In accordance with the directives of public health agencies at the provincial and federal levels, the AMBM Group announces measures to help counter the COVID-19 pandemic.
A development consortium led by Manitoba’s bilingual municipal leadership, the AMBM Group builds on the vitality and prosperity of Manitoba’s Francophone and bilingual communities by bringing together under its aegis three organizations with complementary vocations: the Association of Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (AMBM), the Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM), and Eco-West Canada (EWC).
Effective immediately, the three organizations forming the AMBM Group are implementing the following respective measures in response to the spread of COVID-19 to promote social distancing and the protection of its employees, partners, and public health.
Association of Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (AMBM)
Office of the Chief Executive Officer
The office of the Chief Executive Officer of the AMBM is closed until further notice. The CEO works remotely and can be reached by email, telephone, or teleconference.
Travel and Meetings
All travel and meetings of representatives and members of the AMBM team and Board of Directors, including those of the President and CEO, are indefinitely postponed.
Economic Development Council for Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM)
The CDEM’s offices are open to employees, but are closed to the public. Client services continue to be provided by e-mail, telephone or teleconference.
All CDEM learning activities offered in class are suspended, including training, events, and face-to-face appointments.
All employees whose job functions allow for telework are allowed to telework on a voluntary basis until Friday, April 10, 2020.
All employees whose duties cannot be performed remotely and who do not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 must continue to report to work.
All employees on leave of absence should provide a 14-day voluntary isolation period upon return from international travel.
Eco-West Canada (EWC)
EWC’s offices are open to employees, but are closed to the public until further notice. The EWC team can still be reached by e-mail, telephone or teleconference.
The workshops planned under the Business-Climate Initiative (BCI) are cancelled. Instead, a webinar session will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 for the communities of Neepawa, Montcalm, and East St. Paul.
