EWC continues to support municipalities in the development and implementation of their green initiatives

Stimulating local economic recovery in small and medium-sized municipalities by supporting the development and implementation of green initiatives is a priority for Eco-West Canada (EWC).

From the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventories and local action plans, to the development and implementation of waste diversion initiatives that facilitate the evolution of regional circular economies, to energy efficiency assessments and community building retrofits, to fleet management and transportation electrification, EWC is there to help municipalities build more sustainable and prosperous communities.

To find out more about the projects and initiatives that EWC is currently working on, consult the tabs below.

EWC is ready to support municipalities in greening their local and regional economies, setting the stage for post-COVID-19.

Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP)

The federal government is now accepting project proposals for funding under the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP).

Regional Waste Management Initiatives

One of EWC’s recognized areas of expertise is the management of projects in the municipal waste sector (feasibility studies, pilot projects and investment projects).

Three regional projects in Manitoba are either already underway or in the process of being launched.

The scope of these feasibility studies is such that they will allow municipalities to fully understand current waste characteristics and waste management gaps in their communities and identify appropriate innovative and green technologies to better manage municipal waste.

The data and knowledge gained through these initiatives will enable communities to make smart decisions on the way forward in waste management, waste diversion, organics collection and treatment, and white goods recovery.

Send an email to the EWC team if your municipality is interested in these initiatives.
